Muncie Delaware Clean and Beautiful appoints a new executive director

MUNCIE, Ind.—A Muncie resident and sustainability advocate has accepted the position of executive director for Muncie Delaware Clean and Beautiful (MDCB).

Tom Reeve, the Restoration Ecologist at FlatLand Resources, has worked in the outdoor recreation and horticulture business since 1997. In addition to his work with FlatLand, Reeve currently serves as the project coordinator for the White River Watershed Project.

“I have always enjoyed not-for-profit work; it gives me a sense of fulfillment that other types of jobs do not,” Reeve said. “Additionally, I felt the job was a perfect fit with my past experience in horticulture, gardening and grant writing. I’m hopeful that I can help lead our organization in continuing to enhance the quality of life for all citizens of Muncie and Delaware County through cleanups, beautification, education and the promotion of community gardens.”

Reeve earned a bachelor’s degree in environmental studies from Miami University in 2000 and a master’s degree in natural resources and environmental management from Ball State in 2007. In addition, he served as a Native Plant Horticulture Fellow with the New England Wild Flower Society in 2005.

MDCB is a 501(c)(3) not-for-profit organization dedicated to the beautification and renewal of Muncie and Delaware County.
