The Golden Broom Award is an annual honor bestowed upon individuals,organizations and businesses for beautification efforts in Muncie and Delaware County.  One of the 2006 winners is Arby's on S. Madison St.  Another 2006 Golden Broom Award went to Ball State University for the improvment of N. McKinley Av.  Ball State's new Bethel Av. entrance connecting to N. McKinley Ave.  First Merchants Bank on E. Jackson St. downtown was another 2006 winner.  This beautiful home and a 2006 GBA winner belongs to Michael and Laura O'Hare at 1001 E. Washington St.  This beautifully arranged backyard belongs to Pete and Nancy Taverna at 317 N. Vine St. Another winner!  Another beautiful home owned by Alan Hargrave and Michael Hayden, located at 2400 W. Petty Rd.  MDCB Executive Director Jim Reese celebrates with Mrs. Marjorie Zeigler after winning the annual "Above and Beyond Award". This award is for that person who goes the "extra mile". That someone who truly likes to help a cause or a project that will benefit the community and not look for selfish interests! |
